Bed bugs. After we checked in, we felt something strange in the air in the hallway (our throats got dry + strong nauseous feeling). When we asked one of the guy in our room about it, he told us that the hostel was treating one of the room for bed bugs - apparently brought the day before by a woman who left in the morning. In the evening, we saw bed bugs on the wall and in the beds of the room we were staying in ! One of us even got some on his clothes ! We changed room at 2am and the staff asked us to leave our stuff in the old room, while they sprayed the product to kill the bugs. They asked us to give them the clothes that were outside our backpacks so they can wash them. The hostel knew about the situation and didn’t warn us about it when we checked in. They didn’t even look sorry about it. This morning they brought back our clothes unwashed ! Hopefully we noticed it before putting them back in our luggage ! Don’t go there !

Estoril is een centrale Buenos Aires-klassieker in een groot oud gebouw: ruime kamers, balkons, patio's, keuken en Avenida de Mayo-energie direct buiten. Goede verblijven leunen op de locatie, behulpzame receptie, schone gedeelde ruimtes en een gebouw met genoeg hoekjes om te werken, koken, herstellen of de volgende stadsmissie te plannen. De sfeer heeft geen strak label. Het kan vriendelijk en solo-proof zijn, met personeel dat helpt met stadsactiviteiten, maar het heeft ook een praktischer, rustiger kant: eerder een centrale basis dan een non-stop feestlab. Voor downtown, metro dichtbij en een grote oude hostel-schil is er genoeg materiaal. Die centraliteit brengt ook geluid mee, en het oude gebouw wisselt in onderhoud. Straatkamers, geluid uit gemeenschappelijke ruimtes, versleten keuken en schoonmaakklachten komen terug. Beste match: reizigers die locatie en karakter willen en wat Buenos Aires-decibels kunnen hebben.
