There were quite a bit of toilets and bathrooms would’ve appreciated if all of the toilets were attached to the bathrooms. The pillows weren’t clear and bedsheets weren’t washed properly there were crumbs of food under my bedsheet. I think there is also bed bugs because my face started itching and I got rashes. Not recommended to anyone.

The building and surrounds plus the situation of the site is amazing. The frontline staff are helpful and accommodating. The mattress is too soft so doesn't support alignment of the spine resulting in lumbar & thoracic discomfort. It also feels like sleeping on latex with the thin lower sheet. The main issue though was BED BUGS! Though I had some scratching on initial nights, on the final night I was awake for most of it and came out in red bite marks on arms, legs & hands. I showed frontline staff. They asked if I wanted to see the manager which I didn't deem necessary because I had already reported it.
Vibe-analyse
YHA Penzance ligt op een rustige, beboste plek buiten de stad, met grote gronden, een ruime lounge, een keuken voor zelfcatering en veel douches en toiletten. Wanneer het goed draait, is de plek schoon, de staff vriendelijk en krijgt ontbijt sterke scores. Het voelt meer als een uitgespreide basis voor een autotrip of familiestop dan als een strak stadshostel. De upside is de setting; de tradeoff is dat de ervaring flink kan schommelen afhankelijk van welke kamer, tent of shift je krijgt.

- Het is een lange wandeling vanaf de stad en onhandig als je geen auto hebt.
- Comfort en onderhoud zijn wisselend, met zwakke matrassen, slechte verwarming, kapotte douches en bedwantsen in de mix.
- Lawaai kan een probleem zijn, vooral door late aankomsten, groepen, deuren en gedeelde ruimtes 's nachts.
