Bedbugs. Only hostel in my travels that gave us bedbug bites, and a lot of them. (Due to bite placement I think it was the blankets). The hostel is chill as there's no real communal area except for outside, but the room was super noisy because the patio door let a lot of noise in from a live music bar close by. There also seems to be nobody on site staff wise, so a few guys tripping in the dorm opposite were able to scream and run in the hallways for a few hours. Reception is pretty much non-existent and wasn't helpful in helping us book a taxi/onwards travel. Seemed pretty annoyed we were interrupting his gaming the few times we tried so we just asked elsewhere. I left early morning but nobody mans reception at night/early morning so be aware of that for deposits. Luckily my friend was leaving a couple hours later so I left her with my key to check out.

Vibe-Analyse
DKaYa Hostel ist eine kleine, saubere Khao-Lak-Basis nahe Bang Niang Market, 7-Eleven, Restaurants, Tsunami Museum und einem fusslaeufig erreichbaren Strand. Es funktioniert am besten fuer Low-Drama-Tage: schlafen, Market Food, Scooter-Runden, Insel-Tours, Muay Thai, dann zurueck in ein ruhiges Zimmer. Die praktischen Bits sind staerker als die Party-Bits. Es gibt kostenloses Wasser, Tee, Kaffee und kleine Snacks, dazu Kuehlschrank, Mikrowelle, Besteck/Geschirr, Handtuecher, Toilettenartikel und oft Balkon oder Waeschestaender. Scooter-Miete und Tourbuchung koennen ueber das Hostel verfuegbar sein, und das Personal kann per WhatsApp sehr hilfreich sein. Die Atmosphaere ist ruhig und sozial hit-or-miss. Mit nur ein paar Dorms und einem kleinen Aussen-/Gemeinschaftsbereich kann es freundlich werden, wenn die richtige Mischung da ist, aber es ist nicht um Events oder grosses Backpacker-Chaos gebaut.

- Dorms koennen eng wirken, und viele Kojen haben wenig oder keinen Privatsphaeren-Vorhang.
- Betten sind oft fest, manchmal extrem hart.
- Die Rezeption ist nicht immer besetzt, daher koennen Check-in und Fragen WhatsApp brauchen.
- Laerm von Musik in der Naehe, Nasszellen-Baeder, gelegentliche Wasser- oder WLAN-Probleme und einzelne Sauberkeitsthemen sind moeglich.
