Purple Nest Hostel Valencia

I wouldn’t stay here again…whilst it’s not the staffs fault at all, I found 4 bed bugs in my bed right before going to sleep, and I wasn’t offered much of a solution…it was a friday night so everywhere was booked. They managed to move me to a different room which I checked very thoroughly and found nothing. The staff were very sweet but this wasn’t the best hostel I stayed in - showers weren’t very good and the toilet paper always seemed like it was out.

The hostel is generally unclean and the facilities are lackluster, then I woke up with bed bug bites. It wasnt just me my friend and I stayed and the first night I woke up with bites and the next him, ive been to 25 countries staying in hostels and this has never happened. The staff are very nice but unfortunately could not recommend due to the cleanliness

Unfortunately our stay at Purple Nest was ruined by the fact that there is ACTUALLY no air conditioning, despite them claiming they do. I know it may not seem like a big deal but there is literally no air flow in the dorms or bathrooms which means you are guaranteed to be drenched in your own sweat 24/7. If there is no air conditioning/air conditioning isn’t working, or it is too much of a cost to the hostel, then be honest with your guests and USE FANS. When we had asks the staff to please turn the aircon on for our room, they would always say they had but really, it never got turned on! One night when my friend and I had already asked to have the aircon turned on and we were told that it was, we checked the room 30 mins later and it was still disgustingly hot. So we went back downstairs to ask again and to mention we had already asked for it to be turned on, and one of the male staff was extremely rude. Me and everyone else in my room could not get a good nights sleep with the unbearable heat/mugginess in the room. Also, to top this off, I woke up with bed bug bites all over my body. Disgusting. The place was very sloppily cleaned. This is extremely disappointing as when you first arrive, it seems like a decent hostel but as the nights went by, we realised otherwise.
