I woke up with the most horrendous bug bites that left welts on my body

After I gave up my bed, I was offered a bed in the female dorm or another one in the original dorm. I told her I didn’t want anyone else to sleep in my bed, I stayed overnight in the common room because I was paranoid at this point. However, I noticed as I walked past my old dorm that another girl got the bed I slept in with the bed bugs. They did spray down the bed and mattress, but this does not get rid of the eggs (or bugs, its more of a preventive measure and will not work once there’s an infestation) I do understand that business must go on and you can’t move people into other rooms if you’re overbooked, but if travelers don’t know there’s bugs they might bring them into other hotels or even their own houses. It can be very hard to get rid of and can cost thousands to succesfully exterminate them. I was pleased with the treatment I got and wasn’t angry at all, but seeing them place another lady in that infested bed made me feel they don’t take the measures they should KNOWING there’s an active infestation with fully grown bugs. I feel that’s not proper responsibility and puts money and profit over the safety of travelers (and their own hostel). That single point made me not want to stay again, knowing that they let people sleep in infested beds. It’s sad because last year I had an amazing stay at this place, I also know they do treatment a few times a year as prevention measures but still, this is not okay.

Cleanliness issues, especially the bed, we got bed-bugs bites all over us, which was annoying
