Explain how it works
We compare every 5★ review's word count against the global distribution. Hostels where unusually many top-rated reviews are suspiciously short — way under the typical length — start to look like the staff (or a boost-my-listing service) is padding the score with throwaway praise.
The detector flags reviews that are both top-rated and below a length threshold, then estimates how many of them statistically shouldn't exist. For this hostel we scanned 392 top-rated reviews and 1% were suspiciously short.
Length z-score: 6.16. A z-score measures how far this hostel's distribution of 5★ review lengths sits from the global average, in standard deviations. 0 = perfectly typical. 1–2 = slightly unusual but within normal noise. 3–5 = strongly anomalous. Anything 10+ means the pattern is so far from the global norm that it's effectively impossible to get there organically.
This is a heuristic, not a verdict — it surfaces hostels worth a second look, not proof of fraud. Read the actual reviews below and judge for yourself.

Feel Hostel was ok. I'd probably give it another shot. The location is great. A short bus ride to/from the bus/train station (which are conveniently located together in a mall). Near the Marina and city center. Great price. Friendly staff. I was in the mixed 6 bed room with my son. Bed was comfortable. But the top bunk was not bolted to the wall and every time the person moved, he rocked the lower bunk. :( What I did not like was the persistent odor in the bathroom even though it was often cleaned by staff (every floor, too). The water was either hot or cold. No "warm" position. (We tried every floor. The same.) The timer of the lights going off every 30-60 seconds in The bathroom made it difficult to stand in shower negotiating with the plumbing. The 2nd night, people were extremely noisy... until 2am. No one reminded them of the quiet rule after 10 or 11pm... Buuuut, with all that, I'd probably come back next time. I did not plan my itinerary well. Malaga needs 3 days minimum to visit the Alcazaba and Gibralflor, Picasso museum, the outer farms, Torremolinos, Marbella (for the beach. Better than Malaga, I heard. Malaga beach has brown sand full of small rocks and broken sea shells. Pretty... But not a great "beach" per se... To walk, frolic, etc.) Next time, I'll go to Granada first... Then, Malaga. Also, I bought the Renfe Spain 4 trip pass 205 Euros. (Sep '18) Next time, I will compare prices. Many point-to-point tickets are cheap in Spain so the pass may not worth it for me. (I have to make reservations at the window - wait in line...wait for computer..etc.) Research the prices before you travel and buy your tickets at the machine. Back to my rating... *Book Feel Hostel in advance. Maybe don't get a front facing room (the street may be noisy after midnight.) *Buy groceries and use spacious IKEA kitchen on the 3rd floor to save money. *Ask Pedro for his tour suggestions! So friendly. So knowledgeable! My son and I ate in the crowded city center. Food & service not that great. But, I found the best tortilla at "Anyway" across from the Plaza de Toros. Really give yourself 2-4 days in each city in Spain. It's so beautiful and historical!

This place is disgusting. Luckily I don’t actually plan on sleeping here tonight. Only here because the nearby hostel is fully booked and for good reason! I should have known an open room last minute in the center was too good to be true. Don’t waste your money here even if it’s cheaper you will want to leave ASAP and then end up losing your money anyway.
