One of the cleanest hostels I have ever stayed in & very open minded with gender neutral bathrooms & environmentally friendly policies. The only issue we had was bed bugs, we ended up sleeping on the floor in a room crawling with bugs because there were no spare beds. Other rooms were infected and one man slept in the kitchen 2 night in a row. We left covered in bites with no discount/refund or apology. We had to disinfect our bags ourselves. The customer service could definitely be improved.

This hostel is amazing. Cleanliness, atmosphere, facilities, everything. But there was a massive bed bug problem, and normally I wouldn’t leave that in the review but they were found in at least three rooms while we were there and the staff were not serious about it and acted annoyed when we wanted to dry all of our stuff

Vibe Analysis
Falling Lakes Hostel is a clean, well-kept base for visiting Plitvice Lakes. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms and shared spaces are generally in good shape. There is a full kitchen, good storage, and enough room to cook and relax. The hostel has a busy schedule of activity: hikes, kayaking, trivia, game nights, stargazing, group dinners, and trips to nearby places such as the national park and the abandoned airbase. A shuttle to Plitvice makes day trips easy, and the staff are helpful, welcoming, and full of local tips. It fits well if you want a social place without a party-heavy feel. The common areas can be lively, and some rooms near them can be noisy at night. Some rooms also do not have curtains on the beds or windows, so light control can be an issue.
