Bed bug reports

Bed sheets were not clean, I woke up with massive amounts of bed bug bites on my arms, shoulders, and back. Front desk check out attendant had a very rude attitude because I checked out at 12:00pm. Check out is at 12:00pm so I’m not sure why there was a problem.

The location is very noisy as it is located very close to the Fontaine Saint-Michel. We experienced a lot of noise during most of the night making it difficult to keep the window open at night. The bed was unbelievably uncomfortable making it difficult to sleep. My back got really bad from sleeping in a bed that was so incredibly soft that it was even difficult to turn around in the bed. Our daughter woke us up last night with itches all over her body. She thought it was bedbugs but there were no common signs of bedbugs. My wife changed places with her and in half an hour she started itching too. We never discovered what caused the problem but it was extremely uncomfortable and we didn´t get much sleep that night.

Vibe Analysis
Hotel Europe Saint-Severin is a very central Paris hotel play, not a hostel-social play. The useful part is obvious: Latin Quarter location, Notre Dame/Seine access, nearby metro/RER, breakfast, clean rooms, and staff that can be genuinely helpful when things are running well. It is best for travellers who want to walk out into Paris fast, then come back to a compact room and crash. The vibe is city-base pragmatism: cafes, bars, tourist streets, old elevator noises, small rooms, and very little communal hangout value. The stay quality depends heavily on room assignment. Some rooms land clean, modern, and comfortable; others run tiny, dated, noisy, or too close to lift/renovation/street sound. Pick it for geography, not hostel soul.
Signals to check
- Street, elevator, and renovation noise can be loud enough to disrupt sleep.
- Rooms can be very small, tired, or not aligned with the photos.
- Luggage handling and front-desk consistency are worth double-checking.
