Well, after having slept there it appears that several spots grew on my skin in the morning. It began scratching the day I woke up. I don't know for the moment what it can be and i have to check. May be bedbugs ?

Despite its great location, this place is not good value for money in my opinion. It’s a very old house run entirely by volunteers of varying degrees of motivation There is a pungent smell throughout, perhaps due to the old carpets, mold/ rotting wood, leaky toilet. The only way to deal with the bad smell was to keep windows open, despite the cold. There was no hot water the day I arrived, so was told to walk outside and down the street to a different house to shower. Maintenance work/ drilling happening during the day Electrical issues: power goes off if you plug too many things in, hairdryer only works for 10 seconds Bed bugs : someone in the hostel got bed bug bites, luckily it was in a different room than mine Cleanliness: some volunteers did a better cleaning job than others but most days the hygiene was not up to standard (i stayed 8 days) WiFi is spotty in parts of the house. Security: Door to hostel is left unlocked most of the day, no room locks and lockers in the rooms are too small to put a backpack. Window in our room didn’t close and was falling off the hinges.

Despite the name, activities are not always running, so book this more as a cheap-ish Tromso base than a guaranteed social program. This is an old, rough-around-the-edges house hostel. Cleanliness, bedding, mattresses, bathrooms, room size, noise, and staff availability can be uneven, and the price can feel steep for the condition.
