A real castle setting is the hook at Stayokay Heemskerk. The building, garden, courtyard and green surroundings give it a novelty factor that works especially well for families or anyone who wants a simple bed in a strange old place instead of a normal city box. The hostel can feel clean, tidy and freshly refreshed, with friendly staff, simple food, a bar with good beers, and breakfast that ranges from decent to basic depending on expectations. Some dorm setups are practical, including an 8-person room with two showers and two toilets. This is still a youth-hostel-style setup rather than a castle hotel.
