Confirmed Hostelworld
RR Hostel is great. It feels like old school backpacking. Rodrigo had his friends over, who were so nice. It was great getting to hang out with the locals. He has some rescue dogs who are adorable. When you go there, make sure to ask Rodrigo about the hostel, he’s worked so hard to decorate it and everything has a meaning. It’s so interesting. The place is also perfectly clean and no bed bugs! Which is ideal.

Really frustrating. Checked in with a lovley welcome although was faced with dog poo, vomet in the toilet and bed bugs in the bed. When the host was confronted with the issue of the bed bugs he got very personal. Suggesting that white people always complain. He then refused to give us a refund and said he doesn’t have the money anymore because he had given the cash to his landlord for rent thus it was not available. Very disappointing experience.

Vibe Analysis
RR Hostel sits in Campeche's historic center, close to the main plaza, Calle 59, restaurants, bars, and walkable sights. It works best as a simple central base: rooms can be clean and comfortable, staff can be kind and helpful, and there is usually a light morning setup with coffee, tea, toast or bread with jam. The rooftop terrace is the clearest extra. It gives you somewhere above the street to take tea or coffee, cool off, and get a bit more breathing room than the compact rooms. Expect an old, pretty building with hacienda-style touches, a courtyard or patio feel, and uneven rooms. Some rooms are dark or windowless, bathrooms can be tiny, and sound can bounce through the lobby, corridors, and nearby nightlife.
