Solana de Granada - Outdoor and Climbing Hostel
Bed bug reports

Confirmed Hostelworld
Solana has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff was so welcoming but I did encounter bedbugs during my stay. I told the workers immediately and they were very concerned and said that they were going to take action right away. I’m hoping they’re dealing with the issue but do be aware of that if you are considering a stay here. With that being said, this is such a unique hostel and I wish them the best.

Initially, this hostel seemed lovely. Lots of cool people, amazing location and activities. However, unfortunately during our stay we found bed bugs through out all the beds in our room. To make matters worse, we found out later from another guest that people had been bitten and reported the bed bugs just 2 nights before so the staff knowingly put us into a bedroom with active infestation and no warning. When we left early in the morning, we were accused of “sneaking out” to avoid being seen.

This place is full of bed bugs, we left and we were full of spot very itching everywere. That's the mainly problems of this place. They knew it and didn't say or do anything. The rest was ok, the People are nice and the place is beautiful.

Vibe Analysis
Solana de Granada is a small house-style hostel built around climbing and the mountains. The crag is right out back, and the place also offers climbing lessons, bouldering, hiking, yoga, and sunset walks. A garden, terraces, and a pool add to the outdoor feel. The atmosphere is calm, friendly, and social without feeling like a party place. Shared cooking, a lounge by the fire, and easy conversation give it a homey feel, while the setting stays quiet and tucked away above Granada. The bus makes the city reachable, but the hillside location means planning around schedules helps. It works best for nature-focused climbing stays. Some rooms seem basic, and the kitchen or bathrooms can get busy at peak times. A few visits also had bedbugs or lice, so it is worth checking current room conditions before booking.
