Mixed Experience - Friendly Owner but Hygiene Issues I recently stayed at Alex Villa Hostel in Bucharest, and the experience was a bit strange overall. On the positive side, the owner was very friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed and offering us plenty of advice on getting around the city. One of the worst hostels I've been to. It looks like you broke into somebody's house, it's not an actual hostel. There's nothing welcoming about this place. It's small, dirty, smells like a retirement home, without any common area or any other backpackers. It's cheap for a reason but not a good one.
