Well, I had fleas in my bedroom which I then took home of course because they crawled into my luggage. I don't have pets and don't come in contact with pets and I've never had fleas so it wasn't me. Now I have a plague at home which only the exterminator can get rid of. Can I blame the hotel? I don't know. They gave me a different room right away when I realised I had been bitten but I don't think I have been the first one to report this because someone else must have brought them in. So the hotel in turn should have taken control of the situation before it happened again and before renting out the room again (e.g. getting an exterminator themselves). The receptionist didn't seem to be surprised at all and wasn't very apologetic about it, so I don't think this was a one-time incident. The friend I was travelling with had no issues in her room.
