Wildly disappointed in my stay. The communication here was like pulling teeth. This goes for Rafiki and Rafiki Oasis. Breakfast and most activities are actually at Rafiki and not at this location, just fyi. From the start, they booked me at the wrong location and when I asked for a refund they said “oh that’s not possible, the money is already in the bank”, which is not how anything works. They have a WhatsApp group that has all information on activities, tours etc. But no one manages the group so it’s at capacity and it takes days (others said a week of asking) before getting access to all of the events. You could go to reception but it has limited hours and it’s impossible to find anyone. They give you numbers for bike rentals or other activities but again, no one responds to the WhatsApp messages or they forget to give you times or costs. Other advice like for the sunrise hike are so off point. I was told I need a “light windbreaker” for the top of Moses mountain and it was so freezing and had to spend more money renting blankets from the site. I needed to extend my stay and no one thought to inform me the price had doubled until after my credit card was charged. My friend had organized an airport pick up and was left waiting for 2 hours at 1am and another friend was never responded to regarding her airport pick up. When I had a bed bug concern, reception was closed and I had messaged the group WhatsApp and was told to “message instagram”, to which instagram says their account isn’t regularly checked. It wasn’t until I announced publicly that I needed assistance regarding a bed bug matter that someone was miraculously available to move me to a different room. Would not recommend this hostel.

Vibe Analysis
Rafiki Oasis is the Dahab branch for social hostel energy with a softer basecamp feel: a clean, renovated space close to the beach, shops, and the square, with an inviting outdoor seating area where the crowd naturally gathers. It works well for meeting others without being locked into party mode. Daily activities are a big part of the setup, from sunset hikes and family dinners to mountain nights, Blue Lagoon trips, and Dahab-focused outings. There is also access to Rafiki's other hostel and pool house when the mood is more social, while Oasis itself can stay more relaxed. The hostel has a coworking space with decent internet, daily cleaning, comfy beds, and dorm features such as curtains, reading lamps, lockers, and at least one 4-bed female dorm with a private bathroom. Breakfast is a real plus here, with especially strong love for Chef Reham or Remy's morning spread. A local dive-company partnership adds another Dahab-specific angle, especially for anyone orbiting the freediving and diving scene. Staff energy is central to the place too, with Rahma, Jana, Manar, Youssef, Hams, Perry, and others tied to the warm, helpful feel.
Signals to check
- Reception availability may be limited, and getting help outside short posted hours can be frustrating.
- Breakfast communication may be inconsistent, even when breakfast is available.
- The property was still under construction in May 2025, so some details may have changed since then.
