La Tribu Boutique Hostel for Women

L'endroit en soit est génial, je pense que c'est le meilleur hostel de Puerto viejo voire du Costa rica MAIS il y avait des punaises de lit et le personnel a très mal géré le problème, c'est pour ça que je mets une note si basse. Ils nous ont menti en disant qu'il y en avait pas, en faisant faire venir une équipe alors que c'était juste un ami du propriétaire avec son fils, 5j se sont écoulés et la chambre est infestée de punaises de lit, une autre chambre a commencé à en avoir. Pour ces deux chambres, nous avons été déplacés dans un autre hostel mais ils ont continué à faire venir des filles dans ces chambres là les autres jours et quand certaines ont essayé de prévenir sur le groupe WhatsApp, ils ont changé les paramètres pour que seuls les admins puissent envoyer des messages et ils ont bloqués ses filles en supprimant les messages. J'y suis retournée après pour récupérer ma nourriture et plein de filles. Étaient encore infestées de punaises de lit alors qu'ils nous avaient dit qu'ils fermeraient ses chambres. Ça a commencé à se propager dans d'autres hostels. Je ne recommande pas, faites attention et vérifier bien votre lit et si y'a une rumeur de punaises de lit, partez. Tout est dit dans le message du dessus J'ajouterai tout particulièrement la réceptionniste qui est fortement désagréable et pas du toute souriante, elle vous prend de haut et vous parle mal

I arrived at the property at around 16:00h when I was told there were bed bugs and the maintenance was doing work. They kept saying I could cancel the booking and look for somewhere else as if this would be very simple. They were not sympathetic at all at the reception. Therefore on a hot afternoon I was out in Puerto Viejo with my luggage looking for somewhere to stay, which was not pleasant. I feel they could have sent a message explaining the situation, so I would to book somewhere else prior to my arrival

Disappointing. Rude staff (not all). Mouldy room. Bed bug outbreak was handled so badly. Prior to my stay some guests had bites and told staff but it was ignored and new guests were moved in. On my second night I found multiple bites and bed begs on my bed, so I left next day but more guests moved into my dorm. I heard that they eventually closed the hostel for a few days to properly exterminate, but that should have happened from the start. Now their customer service won’t reply for a refund 🤪

As of right now there is a bed bugs outbreak and they aren’t doing anything about it. We left 4 days ago covered in bites from head to toe and we told them what we think it is. They told us they would check, and when we went back in they just changed the sheets and made the beds ready for the next guests. We are in the group chat still and the other girls are saying it’s now in every room but one. We have messaged them multiple times with no replies. Such a huge health and safety hazard.

The Hostel was very nice overall, the beds were clean and some of the volunteers were very sweet and helpful. However the toilets were not always the cleanest, often feces were left floating in the water and the showers were lacking storage space. The bathrooms in general felt very cheaply made. The night shift receptionist was very rude, she would come and tell you to shut up in a very rude tone if you were to even make a peep after 10pm. BEDBUG outbreak which they tried to keep under wraps.

Comfy bed and good communal kitchen. Good amount of showers/ toilets and AC in the rooms was good. Woke up with bites every morning, couldn’t see any bugs in the bed so didn’t complain but pretty sure it was bed bugs. Staff were also not the most friendly and not willing to help when not on shift. A bit overhyped for the price.
