Beware of this place. It is a, scam. They are listed with 2 different but similar names on booking. This being the second just to improve their image. I have never had such a bed experience. First, they gave us a room which was already occupied by a couple sleeping on it. The second room, you could see that someone had just taken a shower and the bed had been used recently. They transferred us again to a third one which was a mosquito nest and dirty like the other two. It had no real window, as it was facing a nearby building. But we also found a bedbug on the bed, while the toilet was leaking. A nightmare. We packed and let at midnight. Booking customer support was not of much help either.

Vibe Analysis
Xaysomboun Hotel is a central Vientiane base with big-hotel energy: spacious rooms, comfortable beds, an on-site restaurant, a pool, and quick access to shops, malls, the bus station, Talat Sao, the Mekong area, and city sights. Some rooms feel modern, clean, and fully equipped, with city views and enough space to settle in properly. The breakfast buffet can be a real strength, with Asian and Western options, egg dishes, pancakes, noodle soup, and plenty of savory food. The restaurant is often a practical fallback when nearby dining feels limited. Staff service can be warm and highly useful, including tour booking help, fast check-in, lost-item support, and small touches like honeymoon room decoration. This is more hotel than hostel: useful for comfort, business trips, couples, families, and a pool-and-breakfast reset in the capital, less obvious as a social backpacker scene. The best version here is a large room, easy city access, a good breakfast, and a swim after errands or sightseeing.
