Bed bugs and cockroaches in the rooms. I tried to inform the staff multiple times but was ignored. Everything was very unclean, from the pools to the beds and the bathrooms. Unfortunate because otherwise it could’ve been a great place.

AC unit was extremely loud which prevented me from getting ANY sleep, and worked more like a fan i strand of air conditioning and cooling the room. I have what appears to be bed bug bites but can’t tell for certain - could be some other bug bites. The hallways were very loud from younger guests and was not controlled by the staff. WI-FI was not stable. Not enough lights In the room. Door did not have privacy/safety lock from inside. The only chair in the room had broken/loose legs. Water was shut off for a few hours during the day and without any notice. Some staff lied that it was the city shut off the water, others said it was for maintenance - still don’t know the reason but the AC was not working during the time either and it was unbearably hot. Majority of the staff spoke poor English which was difficult to communicate with them since I do not speak Spanish at all.

Vibe Analysis
Viajero Miami is mostly about the South Beach position: Collins Avenue, close to Ocean Drive, the beach, restaurants, brunch spots, shops, and the airport bus route. It works best as a short Miami base when location matters more than polish. There is a pool area, bars, a restaurant, ping pong, free morning coffee, luggage storage, and a schedule of activities. The social side can land, especially if a party-hostel atmosphere is what you want, but it can also feel uneven or more like a shared hotel than a classic hostel. Dorm setup varies. Beds may have curtains, USB ports, lights, and under-bed storage, and some rooms are spacious. The tradeoff is real: cleanliness, bathroom wear, broken fixtures, AC problems, thin bedding, late noise, and front-desk communication can all be rough. This is a convenient, chaotic South Beach bet, not a soft landing.
Signals to check
- Noise from bars, hallways, music, and shared rooms can run late into the night.
- Cleanliness and maintenance are inconsistent, especially bathrooms, carpets, stairs, pool areas, and older rooms.
- AC can be too cold, too hot, loud, broken, or difficult to control from the room.
- Dorm bathrooms can create queues, especially in larger rooms, and extra shared bathrooms are limited.
- Kitchen setup is minimal, with fridge or microwave access rather than a proper cooking setup.
- Service, billing, refunds, deposits, bed assignments, and lost-property handling may be frustrating.
- Security and storage need caution; bring a lock and keep valuables close.
