Stayed in a mixed upper deck, air ventilation is almost not existence once you close up the curtain, and I have to sleep in opposite direction with my top off, and greeted with special guest, bed bug. The shared toilet is okay as long as you pray that don't have someone that nuked a chemical warhead that lingers and you can smell from 15 meters away Im poor so these experience is kinda expected so that's on me

The hotel location is ideal because it’s close to MRT station and a lot of late night eateries. However, i have a few feedbacks. 1. Wood boring beetle and bed bugs. Because the cabin interior is made of wood, it attracts insects like wood boring beetles and i find them crawling on my pillow and mattress. It could also be bed bugs before i got more than 10 mosquito-like bumps with dark spot on each bump on my limbs, neck and belly with burning sensation after i checked out 2. Ventilation. Each cabin only can get ventilation from the aircon outside the cabin so if your cabin is far away from the aircon, you won’t get much ventilation and it could be a bit stuffy. 3. Each room doesn’t have security digital door lock so anybody can go in easily. However, if you don’t mind all these issues, you can stay here without any problem. But if you do, better avoid it and book somewhere else.

The lock to the all female room didn’t work so the door could never be fully closed. However the guy in charged did sit at the desk most of the time to keep an eye on the place. The capsule itself was ok. The beds were a little hard and the sheets and comforter were clean. On my first night there I did see a bug on my bed (I squished it). Idk if it was a bed bug or small spider cause I didn’t have my glasses on but after checking underneath the sheets and in the folds of the mattress I didn’t find any traces of beg bugs. The guy changes the bedding after every guest so that gave me some peace of mind but idk. But begbugs are always a risk when staying at any place.

The beds were comfy and location was good and the cleaner was lovely. However the bathrooms were really gross and one of us had bedbugs… they cleaned the bed and changed the sheets but didn’t give any compensation even though we have had to wash all our clothes and my friend was covered in bites.

Got bit by bed bugs and had to kill one myself. Still itched days after, and had to deep clean EVERYTHING I BROUGHT. The pod I got looked like it hasn't been cleaned since long ago because there were lots of bed bugs stains, hair, and dust. I didn't see any cleaners and there was only one receptionist. Bathrooms were clean enough but nothing mattered if there're bed bugs in the pods. If you're placed near the window, be prepared to sleep with loud vehicle noises all night because the main road is just out there. No breakfast like advertised.

I was bitten by bed bugs the first night I slept there and discovered the several bumps on my body later during the day. When I came back the second night I checked under the beds and lo and behold- live bed bugs! I even had to personally kill one that mostly had my blood. Room F. The bed capsule looks like it’s never been deep cleaned before, and there are a lot of spotted stains, dust and hair beneath the mattress. Mind you, bed bugs are NOT a light matter and bc of this I would never come back to those hostel (and I’ve stayed at many without any similar issues)

1. Safety - The safety of the premises itself were less than desirable. It was meant to be a passcode accessible premise but that wasn't in use so anyone could access the hotel and the room at any time. 2. Cleanliness - The capsule itself while it looked clean and had clean linen, I returned home only to experience bed bug bite irritation the next day. The bathroom was was not too clean - walls looked like it had not been washed down in a while - but if your closed your eyes to that it was decent. 3. Space - The premise was cluttered and there wasn't any space to hang out except in your own capsule.

The capsule hotel/hostel looks nice on pictures and has a very modern check-in with a friendly reception. Other than that, I can't recommend spending even one night there. The hostel is unhygienic, some toilets don't lock, the breakfest is a joke and I got bitten by bed bugs. It's mostly used by local long-term tenants and doesn't meet even the lowest city traveler standards. Even though knowing that Singapore Hostels comes with high prices and little convenience this hostel is not worth staying. I have spent months travelling in Asia and never been in such a run-down place before. They seem to be able to afford a Macintosh for the reception but are unable to clean the place and fix anything. You're basically lucky finding some toilet paper there.

I've booked for 18 days and overall I got excellent experiences during staying, at the first 3 days I got a bit trouble because of the bed bugs but I would say thank you for the front desk guy who help me a lot by moving me to another room that more secure. I would recommend the girls to book the pod for females dorm, much better but not saying the others is bad but maybe the super single also great for yall. Near with a lot of restaurant, MRT station - Kallang. Anyways shout out to the front desk and thr manager for an excellent services during stay ❤️

Don’t ever stay here!! Rooms were filthy and not fit to stay in😷The main door on my room didn’t lock and the main door at reception was always open so anyone could walk in! I had money and bank card stolen out of my wallet so definitely be careful if you do stay here. One of the members of staff said they had an infestation of bed bugs in my room after one night of staying here. I checked out early as it was that bad. Front check in desk is only open from 9am to 7pm so you have to check yourself in after those hours which isn’t great if you have a questions about your stay 🙄 Ladder to get up to top bunk is not easy to use and very easy to injure yourself if you are not careful and toilets are filthy dirty 🤮Will never stay here again and would not recommend you staying here either! Do not be fooled all the good reviews, there are plenty of bad ones too! It’s cheap for a reason

Tldr: Bedbugs, terrible service. BE WARNED before you make a booking here. I have never written a 1-star review, but this hotel really compelled me to leave this comment. First off, sound insulation terrible, so you can hear the traffic. On the first night itself, I felt itching all over my body, and I couldn't fall asleep. Turning on the lights, I found the bedding and blankets to be infested with bedbugs. The next day, i complained to the staff, but all she could say to me was "manager not around this week", and refuse to even change my bedding. Upon asking her what my options were, she just say "no" and went on to play with her phone in the corner. The only saving grace is the nearby MRT station, but honestly, that's not enough to save this place.

Horrible stay. I understand that it is what I get for the price, which I must admit is very affordable. For context, this is not my first time staying in a hostel and I have done this before, so my tolerance is higher for this kind of accomodation. However, this one in particular was simply not up to standard even for someone like me. Similar to another review I saw, the set-up of the hostel is such that there are many foreign workers that have basically made the hostel their home, taking away from the experience as they have small stoves to cook on, always taking calls, and also hanging their clothes everywhere. I stayed only for one night, having already selected where I would sleep. However, midway through, the receptionist tried to get me to move me from my original bed to another one upstairs when I had already made myself comfortable in the bed. I left the next day with numerous bites all over my body which I may only attribute to bedbugs. The only other good thing about this place, besides its price, is that it is located in a very convenient place not too far from the airport and the city. The MRT station is only a few minutes away from the hostel. My final verdict is that I do not recommend.
Vibe Analysis
The Room Capsule Hotel is a low-cost stop near Kallang MRT, with fast access to bus links, the stadium, and the airport side of the city. It works best as a simple place to sleep, not as a polished hotel. The sleeping pods give each bed a curtain, plugs, and a bit of personal space. Some rooms feel quiet and private, and the setup can work well for a short crash after a late arrival or an early flight. A few rooms also have clean sheets, towels, and basic conveniences like a kettle or coffee. The tradeoff is a rougher edge: some rooms are dark, some mattresses are very hard, and upper bunks can be awkward to climb. Bathrooms, showers, and shared areas can be cramped and inconsistent, and the place can feel self-service when the desk is empty. It is a practical stay if location matters most, but it is not a soft landing.
Signals to check
- Some rooms have no windows and feel very dark.
- Beds can be very hard, especially on upper bunks.
- Bathrooms and showers can be cramped or dirty.
- Door and locker security can be unreliable.
- Staff may not always be at the desk.
- Cold air conditioning and noise can be an issue.
- Some pods may have bed bug problems.
