    • Reward tied to a review reviews remarking on cockroaches and the rooms are not cheap!! So, we wanted a refund

    The style of room. We walked into our room and switched on the lights. We immediately saw a cockroach. We could also smell a very strong moldy smell. We were given a room on the 2nd floor. We left immediately without even putting our bags on the floor. We asked for a refund. The reception staff member was polite but could not give us a refund without his managers permission apparently. He instead tried to 'upgrade us'. We understand cockroaches are present especially in cities however Google reviews for Elevation hotel had many reviews remarking on cockroaches and the rooms are not cheap!! So, we wanted a refund. Nothing was touched in our room. We had to keep fighting our place with this hotel. The reception member called the manager a second time and handed us the phone and told us to speak with him. After the call there was little communication but we eventually got our money back. We paid in cash less than 4 minutes before we made the complaint.. it was quite ridiculous so make your already annoyed guests more annoyed. Hence the terrible review I'm leaving. We have since been in two much cheaper HOSTELS, both have been very clean, mould and cockroach free!
