Bed bug reports

Fake hostel, fake kitchen, and unpolished host. First, they say feel free to use the kitchen after that if they saw you making food they might not extend your stay. I saw one of the host shouts like a baby at Lady just because she took some spices from un tagged kitchen cabinets. Moreover, the hostl might look nice, but it has an old craked wooden floor that has bed bugs living in it. I slept in the second floor bed, and I woke up with many bites on my head. It is a very dangerous health issue. That hostel needs to be closed by wax by the health department.

The hostel has bed bugs. They live in the wooden floor cracks. I was in the second floor bed, and I got bitten many times. I found that the bed bugs even reach the ceiling. That means the bed bugs are living happily in the hostel. The owner of the hostel, every day, they open the windows fully, allowing the bugs to come inside the rooms as the windows do not have bugs net. The bathrooms have bad hygiene. I did not feel safe, and if you are a woman, do not go their.

Vibe Analysis
Prishtina Backpackers has a strong upstairs setup: a rooftop terrace, common room, big sofa, TV with Netflix, games, cheap drinks, and space to hang out over coffee or food. That is the clearest personality here, especially for a low-key social stop in Prishtina rather than a party machine. The location is practical, with the center, Skanderbeg Square, supermarkets, bakeries, grills, and local food options within walking distance. The kitchen is usually treated as useful and well equipped, and the hostel can feel homey when the terrace and common areas are active. Beds are often comfortable, rooms can be spacious, and lockers are available, but the setup is uneven. Some beds may lack curtains, reading lights, or nearby outlets, and bathrooms can bottleneck because there may be only one shower/toilet setup per floor. Service is a mixed bag. Staff can be warm, helpful, and good for city tips, taxis, bars, bus info, and practical fixes, but reception is not always staffed and WhatsApp may be part of how things get handled. Cleanliness also lands unevenly: plenty of rooms and bathrooms seem clean, while there are serious hygiene and bed bug concerns that should not be ignored.
Signals to check
- Bed bug and hygiene problems may be a real risk, including bites, dirty bathrooms, and neglected areas.
- Reception may be unattended at times, so check-in and help can depend on WhatsApp or waiting.
- Street-facing rooms can be noisy from traffic, especially at night and early morning.
- Some dorm beds may lack privacy curtains, reading lights, or convenient charging outlets.
- Bathroom access can feel limited when one shower and toilet serve a floor.
