Explain how it works
We compare every 5★ review's word count against the global distribution. Hostels where unusually many top-rated reviews are suspiciously short — way under the typical length — start to look like the staff (or a boost-my-listing service) is padding the score with throwaway praise.
The detector flags reviews that are both top-rated and below a length threshold, then estimates how many of them statistically shouldn't exist. For this hostel we scanned 547 top-rated reviews and 1% were suspiciously short.
Length z-score: 7.90. A z-score measures how far this hostel's distribution of 5★ review lengths sits from the global average, in standard deviations. 0 = perfectly typical. 1–2 = slightly unusual but within normal noise. 3–5 = strongly anomalous. Anything 10+ means the pattern is so far from the global norm that it's effectively impossible to get there organically.
This is a heuristic, not a verdict — it surfaces hostels worth a second look, not proof of fraud. Read the actual reviews below and judge for yourself.

Paying extra for towel is frustrating
The location is good The room was not very clean, the floor was dirty and the quality of the air is not good, assuming that the windows are always closed and the air flow is zero. Paying extra for towel is frustrating, considering it wasn't stated before the booking. Bathrooms are not very clean. No one stays at the reception. No lockers in the female dorm.

pay for… I read all the review
Location was good Bed was comfortable Cheap The hostel is cheap and you get what you pay for… I read all the reviews before coming so I can’t say I was surprised with the place when I got there. Although as a female solo traveller I think it’s always important to give my opinion after my stay. The room was comfortable and so was the bed, I paid a little extra for a room with windows for light, although windows did not open and it was quite hot. They provided one fan which helped but they definitely needed 2 for a room with 8 beds. There was no real common area apart from the dining tables so if you’re looking to meet people then this wouldn’t really be the place for you. There were quite a lot of older people staying here which didn’t affect me but again if you’re looking to meet younger people a different hostel would suit you more. There were cleaners everyday and I noticed they did do a good job although the place is old so it looks dirty even when it’s not. kitchen sink was always full with dirty dishes … not sure why people think it’s okay to leave there things there, maybe the signs went clear enough or the staff just clean up after people so the cycle keeps happening. The hostel was super dark with no natural lighting (they had fluorescent LED strips on the walls) not a vibe and felt like a nightclub or night time the whole time. Definitely needs more lighting. But overall yes I would stay there again because if the price and the location
