Although a great location and easy to check in and out, the rooms are disgusting and not healthy to sleep in. The room I was allocated had no ventilation, it was cramped and the facilities were poor. The areas to shower and the toilet in the dorm were unclean, the duvet was dirty and I was bitten by bed bugs no doubt. As I was checking out, people were checking in and there was no evidence of any room/bed being cleaned. Awful experience

Horrible stay at Villa Saint Exupery Beach. The rooms are filthy and while staying there one of my roommates was bitten by bedbugs !! She had to go to the hospital and get confirmation for the hostel to believe her and they wouldn’t offer her a full refund on her stay. While staying at an all female room there were random men coming into the room sometimes and always older men hanging out in the halls. I didn’t feel safe or comfortable. When you send your laundry to be washed they give you dirty broken hampers to put them in. The electrical sockets do not hold adapters well and the rooms were always uncomfortably hot. The only saving grace for this disgusting hostel is the location, but it’s not worth the bed bugs and the filth you’ll encounter. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Vibe Analysis
Villa Saint Exupery Beach is mainly a location play: central Nice, close to the old town, Place Massena, tram links, and about a 10-minute walk from the beach. It has the big-hostel setup around it: a large lounge, bar, kitchen access, luggage storage, lift access in parts of the building, and sometimes pub-crawl or activity booking. The common spaces can be the best part. The lounge and bar area feel modern and lively at night, with happy-hour energy and enough room to sit, eat, or regroup between beach and city runs. The kitchen can be useful, though access and cleanliness can be inconsistent. The dorm side is much rougher. Rooms can be tight, humid, noisy, and low on privacy, with bunk beds that may have no curtains, personal lights, working outlets, or much storage. Cleanliness is a recurring weak spot in floors, bathrooms, bedding, showers, and kitchen areas, and staff help can range from kind to cold. Book this for the location and big common-area setup, not for polished sleep science. It can work for a short, social, budget-minded Nice base if you bring a towel, earplugs, a padlock, and low expectations for the room itself.
Signals to check
- Rooms may be cramped, with limited ventilation, weak storage, and little bed privacy.
- Bathrooms and dorm floors can be dirty or poorly maintained.
- Noise can run late from corridors, roommates, street sound, and the lounge/bar area.
- Towels may need to be bought rather than rented; laundry, late checkout, breakfast, bag storage, and padlocks can add up.
- Kitchen access may be limited at night or during private events, and the shared fridge can be overcrowded.
- Staff support is inconsistent, especially around check-in, room issues, refunds, and lost items.
- Lockers may be small or unreliable, and mixed dorm security may feel weak.
