I don’t fully agree with all the very positive reviews. The hostel has a beautiful view, but the location is quite difficult to reach and there is nothing (no shops or restaurants) within walking distance.. Since uber/rapido are not working, you are very dependent on the local taxi services that were quite expensive. Once we entered the room, we noticed that it felt very humid and there was quite a strong mouldy smell. In addition, the bed contained many small bugs (not bedbugs, but still not very hygienic). To their credit, the staff changed the bedsheets immediately after we mentioned it. The bathroom hygiene was also disappointing, and the shower water had a brownish color. On the positive side, the restaurant service was good and the food was nice.

Terrible experience. Unwelcoming staff, barely giving attention, minimum attention. Our room had unpleasant smell from cleaning products and we had bedbugs. We had booked 2 nights and left after the first night even if we didn’t get a refund.. I was very surprised as we read such good reviews before choosing the Monkey Tribe… so it was a very disappointing stay, our only negative experience since we arrived in India. They for sure had been a change of management. I wouldn’t recommend it at all… we found for the same price much much better places.

La red de árbol en la terraza es el pequeño detalle de espera, ¿qué? aquí: una percha para mirar estrellas integrada en una escena de azotea con grandes vistas del valle, juegos, noches de película y deriva social fácil sin necesitar caos completo de hostel fiestero. Monkey Tribe Munnar está fuera del pueblo, en las colinas y el aire de los campos de té, con espacios comunes que pueden hacer que viajar solo se sienta menos atomizado. Las habitaciones suelen ser espaciosas, con camas cómodas, balcones o vistas de montaña en partes del edificio, y una configuración que parece más fuerte cuando los básicos hacen clic: dormitorios limpios, buen rooftop, personal amable y un restaurante que puede salvar el día porque no hay mucho más cerca. La comida suele ser un plus, especialmente por valor, aunque el servicio puede moverse a tempo de montaña. La ubicación es tanto el hechizo como la fricción. Hay un acceso empinado, el pueblo de Munnar queda aproximadamente a un tuk tuk, bus o scooter, y planificar transporte importa. La caminata a una cascada escondida cercana es un bonus real, con posibilidad de nadar, y el hostel puede ayudar con tours o salidas grupales, aunque la organización no siempre es fluida.
Señales a revisar
- El hostel está bajando una colina empinada fuera de Munnar, así que planificar transporte importa, especialmente con equipaje.
- El servicio del restaurante puede ser lento, y el menú puede ser limitado o estar parcialmente no disponible a veces.
- El agua caliente y la calidad del agua han sido irregulares.
- El ruido de zonas de rooftop, recepción o música puede pasar a las habitaciones, incluso tarde por la noche o temprano por la mañana.
- El mantenimiento y la limpieza pueden ser irregulares en baños, juegos, equipo de gimnasio y habitaciones privadas.
