I don’t fully agree with all the very positive reviews. The hostel has a beautiful view, but the location is quite difficult to reach and there is nothing (no shops or restaurants) within walking distance.. Since uber/rapido are not working, you are very dependent on the local taxi services that were quite expensive. Once we entered the room, we noticed that it felt very humid and there was quite a strong mouldy smell. In addition, the bed contained many small bugs (not bedbugs, but still not very hygienic). To their credit, the staff changed the bedsheets immediately after we mentioned it. The bathroom hygiene was also disappointing, and the shower water had a brownish color. On the positive side, the restaurant service was good and the food was nice.

Terrible experience. Unwelcoming staff, barely giving attention, minimum attention. Our room had unpleasant smell from cleaning products and we had bedbugs. We had booked 2 nights and left after the first night even if we didn’t get a refund.. I was very surprised as we read such good reviews before choosing the Monkey Tribe… so it was a very disappointing stay, our only negative experience since we arrived in India. They for sure had been a change of management. I wouldn’t recommend it at all… we found for the same price much much better places.

La rete sull'albero in terrazza è quel piccolo dettaglio da aspetta, cosa? del posto: un trespolo per guardare le stelle dentro una scena rooftop con grandi viste sulla valle, giochi, serate cinema e una deriva sociale facile senza bisogno del caos totale da party hostel. Monkey Tribe Munnar sta fuori città, tra le colline e l'aria delle piantagioni di tè, con spazi comuni che possono far sentire il viaggio in solitaria meno atomizzato. Le camere sono spesso spaziose, con letti comodi, balconi o viste sulle montagne in alcune parti dell'edificio, e un setup che sembra dare il meglio quando le basi funzionano: dorm puliti, un buon rooftop, staff amichevole e un ristorante che può salvare la giornata, perché lì vicino non c'è molto altro. Il cibo di solito è un punto a favore, soprattutto per rapporto qualità-prezzo, anche se il servizio può muoversi a velocità da montagna. La posizione è insieme incantesimo e attrito. L'accesso è ripido, Munnar città è più o meno a distanza di tuk tuk, bus o scooter, e pianificare i trasporti conta. L'escursione alla cascata nascosta lì vicino è un bonus reale, con possibilità di nuotare, e l'ostello può aiutare con tour o gite di gruppo, anche se l'organizzazione non è sempre liscia.
Segnali da controllare
- L'ostello si trova giù per una collina ripida fuori Munnar, quindi pianificare i trasporti conta, soprattutto con i bagagli.
- Il servizio del ristorante può essere lento, e il menu a volte può essere limitato o parzialmente non disponibile.
- Acqua calda e qualità dell'acqua sono state incostanti.
- Il rumore dalle aree rooftop, dalla reception o dalla musica può arrivare nelle camere, anche a tarda notte o al mattino presto.
- Manutenzione e pulizia possono essere irregolari nei bagni, nei giochi, nell'attrezzatura da palestra e nelle camere private.
