the place was lovely but about 12-24 hours after leaving the hostel, I noticed bed bug bites over my body…based on my trip, it only makes sense that i got them from the hostel

Good location, close to the Westbahnhof train station. Seemed like a nice place, the check-in was very friendly and the room for 3 people was small but ok. I found bedbugs in our triple room, and I was bitten multiple times. While we were able to switch rooms and some of our clothes were frozen, the response from the staff made it seem like this was no big deal. It was, however, a very unpleasant and gross experience, and I am still disgusted by the thought of it. We never received an apology, and despite following up by email, I haven't received any response. Additionally, I wanted to make a tea in the kitchen, but it was so dirty that I was turned off.

Definitely the BEST HOSTEL I stayed in so far!!! Absolute recommendation, I will come back! I stayed in a girls room (6 beds): + very friendly workers + WhatsApp Group with daily information about activities, dinner and organisation + free lockers for arrival and after check-out + very nice rooms with comfortable beds, lamps and plug sockets next to each bed, very clean, NO bed bugs! + big lockers inside the room (big backpack fits inside) + electronic key cards for doors and individual lockers + very clean and modern bathroom with separate WC and rain shower (hotel vibes) + free water and lemonade at the entry for everyone day and night + big kitchen with everything you need, clean + laundry room with several washing machines and dryers + nice lobby with guitars and piano + dining room, cool bar and nice garden + yummy breakfast menu every morning like in a Café + VERY SOCIAL HOSTEL and perfect for solo travellers, activities every day + TIP BASED DINNER every night at 8 pm! Good food and also good opportunity to meet new people, eat and drink together and play games + good location! I felt very safe although I'm a solo female traveller, the area is lively and safe and you can walk from Mariahilfer Street to the city center (30 minutes) or to the Schönbrunn Palace (20 minutes) or take the tram + many supermarkets (Penny, BILLA, LIDL), drug store (dm) and restaurants near hostel Honestly, I cannot complain about anything! I had a very good time. Thank you so much!

Overall a great experience. The reason the reason there's only 2 stars is because I got bitten at night by bedbugs and although I understand this could happen anywhere, I was a bit surprised that when I informed it at reception I wasn't offered any compensation witch would be expected anywhere else.

El hostal Ruthensteiner Vienna tiene una configuración social con un bar, grandes áreas comunes, un jardín y cenas compartidas. El personal es amable, y la propiedad está limpia en los espacios compartidos y en las habitaciones. La ubicación funciona bien para el transporte público, especialmente Westbahnhof y la U3. No está justo en medio de los principales lugares de interés, por lo que llevará tiempo llegar al centro. El albergue se siente práctico en lugar de pulido. El tamaño de la habitación es la principal compensación. A menudo las habitaciones son muy pequeñas, el espacio es limitado y la privacidad escasa porque las camas no tienen cortinas. El ruido del bar, del patio, de la calle o de las habitaciones vecinas puede afectar durante la noche. El edificio del dormitorio femenino está al otro lado de la calle de los principales espacios compartidos, por lo que los viajes nocturnos para tomar una copa, un té o un baño son menos convenientes.

- Las habitaciones suelen ser muy pequeñas, con poco espacio y poca privacidad.
- El ruido del bar, del patio, de la calle o de las habitaciones vecinas puede afectar durante la noche.
- El dormitorio femenino está al otro lado de la calle de los espacios comunes principales.
- El desayuno y algunos extras cuestan más.
