the place was lovely but about 12-24 hours after leaving the hostel, I noticed bed bug bites over my body…based on my trip, it only makes sense that i got them from the hostel

I found bedbugs in our triple room, and I was bitten multiple times. While we were able to switch rooms and some of our clothes were frozen, the response from the staff made it seem like this was no big deal. It was, however, a very unpleasant and gross experience, and I am still disgusted by the thought of it. We never received an apology, and despite following up by email, I haven't received any response. Additionally, I wanted to make a tea in the kitchen, but it was so dirty that I was turned off.

Honestly, I cannot complain about anything! I had a very good time. Thank you so much!

Overall a great experience. The reason the reason there's only 2 stars is because I got bitten at night by bedbugs and although I understand this could happen anywhere, I was a bit surprised that when I informed it at reception I wasn't offered any compensation witch would be expected anywhere else.

Vibe Analysis
Hostel Ruthensteiner Vienna has a social setup with a bar, large common areas, a garden, and shared dinners. The staff is friendly, and the property is clean in shared spaces and in rooms. The location works well for public transport, especially Westbahnhof and the U3. It is not right in the middle of the main sights, so reaching the center takes time. The hostel feels practical rather than polished. Room size is the main tradeoff. Rooms are often very small, storage is limited, and privacy is thin because beds do not have curtains. Noise from the bar, courtyard, street, or neighboring rooms may carry at night. The female dorm building is across the road from the main shared spaces, so late-night trips for a drink, tea, or a bathroom are less convenient.
