Great hostel for socialising and drinking, if that’s what you like. No real privacy as there’s no curtains on the beds and nowhere to sit except the common area which is quite crammed. The bathrooms didn’t feel that clean and I’m pretty sure my bed had bed bugs. However it was in a great location and I had a great time and met wonderful people! The staff were good at organising events

Much cleaner than over dive centres I’ve stayed at. However, I reported potential bed bugs (which for the record, I think I got the bed bug bites from a different hostel) via their WhatsApp number. I asked them to let me know if they found anything, and then they gave me the number of the front desk manager. I texted this number to check the message had been passed on. I’ve had no response and no messages since. Not very professional

Literally the best hostel in KL! Judith and Patrick are amazing, and the guests here really do feel like family. They also went above and beyond and moved me beds and even cleaned all of my stuff because of bed bugs that I got from the previous hostel I stayed at. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

De pub crawl is het hoofdevent bij Sunshine Bedz KL: een makkelijke sociale launchpad in Bukit Bintang, met quiz nights en regelmatige avondplannen die snel aanhaken simpel maken. Het is vooral sterk voor solo backpackers die willen dat KL tegen nacht een minder anoniem voelt. De locatie doet veel heavy lifting. Bukit Bintang MRT is dichtbij, malls, restaurants, Jalan Alor, convenience stores en centrale sights zijn makkelijk te bereiken, en de Petronas Towers zijn beloopbaar als de hitte zich gedraagt. Staff kan warm en persoonlijk zijn, met namen als Wan, Patrick en Marsha verbonden aan veel van de betere energie hier. Faciliteiten zijn basic in plaats van gepolijst. Verwacht een old-school hostelgevoel, schoon-genoeg dorms en douches wanneer de plek goed draait, airco in kamers, lockers, een koelkast in plaats van een volledige gedeelde keuken, simpel toastontbijt en een rooftop of rookterras om te hangen. Dit is meer sociale motor dan boutique sleep lab.

- Dormbedden hebben meestal geen privacygordijnen, en dekens kunnen klein of dun zijn.
- Receptieuren kunnen beperkt zijn, met late check-in en vroege checkout die extra geduld vragen.
- Kamers en badkamers kunnen krap, gedateerd, vochtig of onhandig ingedeeld aanvoelen, met badkamers soms ver van dorms.
- WiFi kan zwakker zijn in kamers dan in common areas.
- Geluid kan reizen vanuit de common area, straat of late-night sociale plannen, dus lichte slapers kunnen moeite hebben.
