Got home with a skin rash from the beds. Not sure if it was bed bugs or something else.

I was bitten by fleas or bed bugs on several parts of my body. I have traveled to more than 60 countries, and this is only the second time this has happened. The first incident occurred in Africa, and I definitely did not expect this to happen in Helsinki.

On my last stay, during the first night, I woke up around 7 a.m. with my feet very itchy and uncomfortable. I couldn’t sleep even though I went to bed after midnight. Later, I realized I had many bed bug bites, more than 40 on both feet. It was very uncomfortable, and I had to use Aquaphor cream for about two weeks. I told the staff that morning; they were kind and tried to help, but I had to wait until after 11 a.m. to change rooms. Also, the hostel is on the third floor with no elevator, which makes it hard to carry luggage.

Bed bugs!! On checkout you must strip your bed and I found a bed bug! No room in dorm to put your bags, only a tiny locker for passport etc, noisy being right next to the bathrooms, I stayed at yard hostel which was much nicer.

Un edificio di Helsinki del XIX secolo dà ad Apartment by Hostel Diana Park la sua personalità principale: fascino da casa antica, dettagli d'epoca e una posizione centrale che mette città, stazione ferroviaria, ristoranti, supermercati e mare a portata facile. Dentro, le parti più forti sono pratiche e low-key: staff amichevole 24/7, setup pulito, letti comodi almeno in alcune camere, deposito bagagli e una zona cucina-pranzo che funziona bene per cucinare. Lo spazio comune può sembrare cozy, con piccoli tocchi come un angolo second-hand, mappe locali e un puzzle di Helsinki. È più un crashpad tranquillo che un ostello sociale. Può andare bene per un breve soggiorno a Helsinki dove posizione, pulizia e un bel vecchio edificio contano più di eventi, nightlife o una grande scena hangout.
Segnali da controllare
- L'ostello è al piano superiore in un vecchio edificio senza ascensore, quindi i bagagli pesanti possono essere scomodi.
- I bagni sono un punto debole ricorrente: possono essere minuscoli, pochi, freddi, maleodoranti o affollati negli orari di punta.
- La cucina chiude alle 23:00, e dopo potrebbe non esserci un'area hangout utilizzabile.
- La privacy in dormitorio varia; alcuni letti a castello non hanno tende, e l'assegnazione in stanze miste può non corrispondere alle aspettative.
- Il rumore può viaggiare nel vecchio edificio, i letti a castello possono cigolare, e le camere estive possono diventare calde senza forte ventilazione.
- Ci sono serie preoccupazioni di pulizia intorno a possibili cimici dei letti o pulci in un piccolo numero di soggiorni recenti.
