It was an amazing hostel, it felt very luxurious and safe! Really comfortable beds and every bed had a fan. Only downside is that there were bedbugs there during my stay :/

Bed bugs, staff was nice but I don’t think much matters once a hostel has bed bugs. Unless they throw out the mattresses as any treatments are usually false promises.

the sheets were not clean infact the hotel was full of bed bugs I got bitten quite badly even after so called sanitation even others got bitten but everyone thought they were mosquitos but bed bugs infact have to go to doctor

AVOID - bedbugs. Reported to staff and dismissed. The stay and people were very lovely, but I unfortunately woke up to several bug bites all over my body. I told hotel staff and even pointed out the bed bug stains on the mattress (apparently I can’t attach pics but they were clumped little black stains on the bottom edge seam of the mattress). Hostel staff dismissed them as “stains” (but they looked exactly like bed bug mattress stains if you do that image search) and did nothing about it.

An sich schönes Hostel, jedoch habe ich BETTWANZEN bekommen. Auf Rückfrage wurde nur gesagt dass es gecheckt wird, jedoch wurde nicht einmal nach meiner Bettnummer gefragt. Das Problem wurde anscheinend nicht ernst genommen. Mein ganzer Körper wurde befallen und ich plage mich nun mit dem Problem. Sehr schade, denn an sich war das Hostel sauber und schön, in einer tollen Lage.

Very nice hostel with cool vibes for a more laid back traveller not as into the party scene. Nice spacious rooms and cool building. Unfortunately there were bed bugs in one of the beds we had booked and the sheets were visibly dirty. The top bunk also lacked proper railings so if you don't have a bunk up against a wall as we didn't, it can feel a little dodgy! Overall a mostly positive experience except for the bed bugs.

ControVento Hostel zit in een historisch gebouw op een bovenverdieping in centraal Trieste, dicht bij de waterfront, restaurants, bars, de corso en busverbindingen. Het design is echt deel van het verblijf: kleurrijke kamers, hoge plafonds, zee- of marinazicht in sommige kamers, en een knusse lounge met boeken, magazines, games en ruimte om te werken. De lounge/werkplek en keuken zijn de sterkste praktische bits. WiFi werkt goed voor laptop time, ontbijt is inbegrepen, en de keuken is meestal goed uitgerust, met een vaatwasser en genoeg basics voor simpele maaltijden. De sfeer neigt kalm, artsy en kleinschalig in plaats van full party chaos, al zit het stadsnachtleven direct buiten. Personeelsservice is meestal warm en behulpzaam, en de plek is vaak schoon, met ruime dorms, kluisjes, cubbies, laadpunten bij bedden in sommige kamers, fietsenstalling en af en toe bagage-drop na checkout. Het past het best als je Trieste-toegang, een karaktervol oud gebouw en een relaxed common room wilt, meer dan een gepolijste sleeppod.
Signalen om te checken
- Er is geen lift, en het hostel ligt bovenaan een serieuze trap die rough kan zijn met zware tassen.
- Krakende vloeren, dunne muren, ganggeluid en bars in de buurt kunnen slaap fragiel maken, vooral voor lichte slapers.
- De zomer kan heet zijn omdat airco beperkt of afwezig is, en muggen kunnen een issue zijn wanneer ramen open staan.
- Bovenbedden kunnen hoog en onhandig aanvoelen, en dormbedden missen mogelijk privacygordijnen.
- Badkamers en douches kunnen krap, beperkt of onhandig aanvoelen op drukke momenten.
- Bedwantsproblemen zijn meer dan eens opgedoken, inclusief recente gevallen.
- Een paar serieuze servicefails gaan over sleutels, late-night toegang, reserveringen en afhandeling van huisdierenbeleid.
