It was an amazing hostel, it felt very luxurious and safe! Really comfortable beds and every bed had a fan. Only downside is that there were bedbugs there during my stay :/

This time I was "unlucky" and was bitten by bed bugs. Disinfection is a must after this. I notified the staff as soon as I found it out

Bed bugs, staff was nice but I don’t think much matters once a hostel has bed bugs. Unless they throw out the mattresses as any treatments are usually false promises.

the sheets were not clean infact the hotel was full of bed bugs I got bitten quite badly even after so called sanitation even others got bitten but everyone thought they were mosquitos but bed bugs infact have to go to doctor

AVOID - bedbugs. Reported to staff and dismissed. The stay and people were very lovely, but I unfortunately woke up to several bug bites all over my body. I told hotel staff and even pointed out the bed bug stains on the mattress (apparently I can’t attach pics but they were clumped little black stains on the bottom edge seam of the mattress). Hostel staff dismissed them as “stains” (but they looked exactly like bed bug mattress stains if you do that image search) and did nothing about it.

An sich schönes Hostel, jedoch habe ich BETTWANZEN bekommen. Auf Rückfrage wurde nur gesagt dass es gecheckt wird, jedoch wurde nicht einmal nach meiner Bettnummer gefragt. Das Problem wurde anscheinend nicht ernst genommen. Mein ganzer Körper wurde befallen und ich plage mich nun mit dem Problem. Sehr schade, denn an sich war das Hostel sauber und schön, in einer tollen Lage.

Very nice hostel with cool vibes for a more laid back traveller not as into the party scene. Nice spacious rooms and cool building. Unfortunately there were bed bugs in one of the beds we had booked and the sheets were visibly dirty. The top bunk also lacked proper railings so if you don't have a bunk up against a wall as we didn't, it can feel a little dodgy! Overall a mostly positive experience except for the bed bugs.

Analisi dell'atmosfera
ControVento Hostel sta in un edificio storico ai piani alti nel centro di Trieste, vicino al waterfront, ristoranti, bar, corso e collegamenti bus. Il design e una vera parte del soggiorno: camere colorate, soffitti alti, viste mare o marina in alcune stanze e una lounge cozy con libri, riviste, giochi e spazio per lavorare. L'area lounge/lavoro e la cucina sono i pezzi pratici piu forti. Il Wi-Fi funziona bene per tempo al laptop, la colazione e inclusa e la cucina e di solito ben attrezzata, con lavastoviglie e abbastanza basi per pasti semplici. L'atmosfera tende al calmo, arty e small-scale piu che al caos party pieno, anche se la nightlife cittadina e proprio fuori. Il servizio dello staff e di solito caloroso e utile, e il posto e spesso pulito, con dormitori spaziosi, armadietti, cubbies, prese vicino ai letti in alcune camere, deposito bici e occasionale deposito bagagli dopo checkout. Si adatta meglio se vuoi accesso a Trieste, un vecchio edificio pieno di carattere e una common room rilassata piu che uno sleep pod lucidato.
Segnali da controllare
- Non c'e ascensore, e l'ostello e su una scalinata seria che puo essere dura con borse pesanti.
- Pavimenti scricchiolanti, pareti sottili, rumore del corridoio e bar vicini possono rendere fragile il sonno, soprattutto per chi dorme leggero.
- L'estate puo essere calda perche l'aria condizionata e limitata o assente, e le zanzare possono essere un problema con finestre aperte.
- I letti superiori possono sembrare alti e scomodi, e i letti in dormitorio possono non avere tende privacy.
- Bagni e docce possono sembrare stretti, limitati o scomodi negli orari pieni.
- Problemi di cimici dei letti sono comparsi piu di una volta, inclusi casi recenti.
- Alcuni seri fallimenti di servizio riguardano chiavi, accesso notturno, prenotazioni e gestione della policy animali.
