Fantastic location attached to their restaurant which was wonderful. I think we got bed bugs from the hostel.The shared areaby the reception was potentially very nice, but it was filthy. The bin was overflowing and rubbish was on the floor. Considering how well run the restaurant was- good food and lovely staff -I was a bit taken aback!

I was worried about this place based off of the reviews that I have seen, but really, it wasn’t that that bad. The facility was actually decently clean for hostel standards. I always throughly check for bedbugs and could not find evidence of them here! The staff were friendly and reachable when I needed them. My big complaints came from the guests that I was placed with, but I can’t really fault the hostel for that. The restaurant below had good quality food, the location was beautiful, and a short walk away from some nice outdoor places to sit and read a book and relax. The bed was fairly uncomfortable and small. I stayed on the bottom bunk, and anytime the person above me shifted, the whole bed would shake as well. The guests that I stayed with were not the nicest, but that’s not the hostels fault.

Saucy Mary’s is in feite een praktische stopover op Skye: sterke locatie bij de ingang van het eiland, makkelijk parkeren, zeezicht en een pub/restaurant ernaast. Het werkt goed voor een simpele nacht of twee terwijl je over het eiland beweegt. Het personeel komt vaak vriendelijk en behulpzaam over, en het eten krijgt behoorlijk wat krediet. De kamers zijn basic en de plek voelt old-school in plaats van gepolijst, maar voor reizigers die meer geven om gemak dan om comfort-extra’s doet het de job.

- Kamers en badkamers zijn vaak basic, en de badkamer kan buiten de kamer of verderop in de gang liggen.
- De gedeelde keuken en gemeenschappelijke faciliteiten kunnen erg beperkt voelen voor de prijs.
