Bed bug reports

The room was infested with bed bugs. I woke up with a severe allergic reaction covered in bites. When I informed the hotel, the manager said it was “unlikely” that the hotel had bed bugs and suggested that I must have brought them with me, which is completely unacceptable and frankly insulting. I have never experienced anything like this in my life and I came directly from my home in Zurich. Instead of taking responsibility, I was treated as if I were lying. As a result of staying in this room, I now need to take medication for 20 days for the allergic reaction. This experience completely ruined my stay. Not only that, also my health because now i am full with red spots everywhere. I strongly advise others to be very cautious.

I can't complain about the location, just 5 mins near the train station. You can't imagine the check-in is a disaster. Suppose you miss the check-in time. You need to wait for the CS to come back at least 3 hours The room has bedbugs, and we have complaints, The CS manager answers the bedbugs from our last hotel. Maybe they have no more room. But the hotel can do something e.g. Add a mattress topper or change the bed sheet… But the balcony view is good.…

We had bed bugs in our room. We were allotted room no. 7. We booked the hostel a month prior. The lodge gave us refund but nothing else we had to pay more money and move out the place immediately due to this and issue of bed bugs and we had to pay more money😭

Vibe Analysis
Eiger Lodge sits right by Grindelwald Terminal, so it is built for fast access to trains, buses, and the mountain lifts. That location is the main draw: easy logistics, alpine views from many rooms, and a practical base for ski days or early starts. Breakfast is simple but solid, and the common areas and bar give it a lively, social feel. Rooms are basic and often tight, with simple furnishings, concrete floors in some areas, and shared bathrooms in parts of the building. Ventilation can be weak, and several rooms run hot and stuffy in warmer weather. Some rooms have awkward layouts, dim lighting, low ceilings, or a view blocked by other buildings or construction gear. The place has a rough-around-the-edges hostel feel. Staff can be friendly and helpful, and there is a microwave, kettle, and a shared fridge setup for light use, but the setup is limited. It works best if you want a practical base near the terminal and do not need much polish.
