Fun nightly activities. Hostel had bugs in the bed. It has one of the better restaurants in Horseshoe Bay for convenience. Outdoor pool was locked for morning swims. Billiards table for 3$. No BYO. Free breakfast raffle (but only when enough people show up)

Had a really great stay in one of the private A frames. Then noticed I had about 50 bed bug bites- this is the only place we stayed at. Can’t confirm with certainty but please be aware

Really pretty hostel, nice atmosphere and people. Unfortunately, it was really dirty. Specially the bathrooms were disgusting, we saw a coacroach in the bethroom and the courtains had a lot of mold. Also I think I got bedbugs from there, as I was completely biten at night. Watch out for snakes, especially when you walk at night. For 100 AUD a night they could exchange the curtains from time to time... but the staff was really friendly and helpful!

Roamer was my first hostel and stop on my trip, but unfortunately, within the second morning of waking up, I had over 50+ bed bug bites. I immediately went to the front desk to show them the bites, as well as the blood stains all over the sheets. They are aware of the bed bugs and leave it be. Full review is on google reviews

Cozy hostel, Nice staff, But, and its a big But. There where bed bugs in my bed and i got over 70+ bites all over my body and i have never scratched so much in my life.

Vibe Analysis
Breakfast with koalas and the 4pm rainbow lorikeet feeding give Bounce a proper Magnetic Island oddball edge. The hostel sits in a bushy setting with wallabies, possums, birds and occasional koalas around the grounds, so the nature part is not just decor. The social side is active without being a pure chaos bunker: yoga, trivia, music quiz, pizza night, sip and paint, bar nights and daily activities make it easy to slide into a group, while the cabins and rooms can still feel quiet and spaced out. The pool, hammocks, bar and common areas carry a relaxed island-resort feel rather than a cramped dorm-factory mood. Rooms are often clean and comfortable, with private cabins, dorms, camping and van spots in the mix. The kitchen can be clean and well stocked, the bar food and coffee can hit nicely, and the location works well for Horseshoe Bay, the bus stop, The Forts walk, snorkel gear rental and lazy beach days.

- Dorm setup can feel basic, with no lockers, no privacy curtains, limited bag space and awkward top bunks in some rooms.
- Cleanliness is inconsistent, especially around shared bathrooms, mould, drains, bins, bugs and dusty bunks.
