Formal Complaint – Early Check-Out Due to Unsatisfactory Conditions Dear Koh Ta Kiev Island Resort Management/ booking.com I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent stay at Koh Ta Kiev Island resort, reservation number 5894.944.615, from 17th February 20 February 2026. Due to the conditions I encountered, I was compelled to check out earlier than planned on the 19th February 2026. Specifically: Issue 1 – Excessive noise from neighboring rooms/during nighttime hours] Issue 2 - bed bugs Issue 3 – e.g. limited electricity and running water. Issue 4 - Food and drinks menu limitations- was told don't have stock or you can only order certain meals. Despite raising these concerns with staff, they appologised, the issues were not resolved in a satisfactory or timely manner. These circumstances significantly affected my comfort and overall experience, making it unreasonable to continue my stay. I wish to be re-imbursed for 1 night as I was charged on check out the full stay. The host Ren is his name advised I send an email to booking.com as he cannot do refunds or make changes I must address the issue with booking.com. Please address this issue urgently. Still await response from the resort.

Vibe Analysis
At night the water and sand here can glow with plankton, a quiet light show right off the beach. The setting is the main draw: a preserved island with no roads, a long sandy beach that staff rake clean each day, turquoise water at a perfect temperature, and beachfront bungalows that sit just steps from the sea. Free kayaks and snorkeling gear (masks, fishing rods) are available, and there is a games room with billiards and foosball. Marked jungle paths let you walk the island, and since there are no shops, plan to budget more than you expect for food and drinks. Snorkeling itself can be underwhelming, with a lot of dead coral and little marine life in the bay. Staff are a real high point, and several are remembered by name for going out of their way to fix problems and make stays better, even when their English is limited. Some visitors had a genuinely wonderful time with delicious food, good cocktails at the bar, plenty of activities for kids, and clean, spacious bungalows with hammocks and sea views. But conditions are inconsistent and sometimes rough. Water shut off for long stretches, often from evening until the next day, which left showers and toilets unusable and bathrooms smelling bad. Electricity can cut out at night with no one around to fix it, leaving rooms hot. Many bungalows have no mosquito net, floor gaps that let bugs in, and showers that flood the bathroom or drain poorly. Towels are thin synthetic and barely dry you, and rooms may not be cleaned during a stay. Pests are a recurring problem: rats, ants, geckos, and in at least one case bed bugs. The kitchen is unreliable too, with long waits of an hour or more, orders forgotten or mixed up, dishes arriving lukewarm, and much of the menu often unavailable despite being on an island. Breakfast tends to be small. Prices feel high for what you get, especially over holidays, and the small open boat transfer has no cover, so you and your luggage can arrive soaked.
